Play/Pause, the project that "Stop" is a part of, was made possible by the New England Foundation for the Arts' National Dance Project, with lead funding from the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation and The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, with additional support from the National Endowment for the Arts; a long-term residency was made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature, and by Skidmore College's Office of the Dean of Special Programs; production residency for this work was funded by the New England Foundation for the Arts' National Dance Project, with funding from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation; additional support for this project comes from the Princeton Atelier, Princeton University's Lewis Center for the Arts, and Princeton University's Office of the Dean of the Faculty; The National Endowment for the Arts; and The O'Donnell-Green Music and Dance Foundation. David Lang's score was commissioned by The Charles and Joan Gross Family Foundation. Support for the live musical performance comes from New Music USA's 2013 Live Music for Dance Program.
